Very friendly, quick and efficient he was able to find the probable cause after just a few minutes, using sensitive pipes and water detectors. However to be certain, and cause the minimal damage he then drained our central heating system, and circulated a harmless gas. With further equipment Frank pinpointed the source of the gas. He was able to neatly cut through our laminate flooring, remove a thin layer of concrete and sand, and showed me exactly where the leak was coming from. He replaced a couple of joints and pieces of copper piping, cleared all the mess and made the area safe and tidy. Further he was able to provide details of how to get a company to liaise with our insurance company, and restore fully the minimal damage caused. And all just 3 days before Christmas. Leak increased in last couple of weeks and now recognised as being probably in the hot water feed as hot tank was turning cold very quickly. We only knew we had a leak initially as the cold water tank ball valve was constantly dribbling. No visual evidence of damp anywhere. Called ADI and their engineer Frank arrived today to investigate. Using heat, damp, gas and sound detection equipment he quickly established the probable location of the leak. Then proceeded to excavate down to expose the pipework below. He was spot on with his assessment and the offending pipe was duly discovered in amongst a nest of others. These pipes were buried under a brick and concrete floor, insulation and a damp proof membrane so no sign of water above. A very awkward repair was then carried out and the system re tested with air under pressure to confirm no other leaks elsewhere. Having previously called in another specialist firm without result my expectations were not high but ADIs approach to the problem was quite different and very professional. (Other companies were quoting 4-6 weeks before they could even come to our home). I felt relieved because I thought the leak would be found and the problem would be solved. Very quickly, it was evident that the technician who came to carry out the detection test most certainly WAS NOT PROFESSIONAL. He had no respect at all for my home, leaving each room that he entered a mess; taking things out of cupboards and not replacing them, turning taps and showers on at full pelt so water poured or sprayed back on bathroom cupboards, floors, walls, and didn’t even attempt to clear anything up. He would not listen to my description or explanation of where I thought the leak was coming from, instead insisting the leak was from a bathroom which was not even in use. After he’d taken all of his tools back to his vehicle, I asked him if he’d checked the level of moisture at the leak site. He hadn’t. He had to go back to his car to go and get the appropriate device to take that recording - a fundamental measurement one would have thought! Of course, he was totally unsuccessful at finding the leak. He then phoned his office and asked “can they take payment?” When I said I wanted to phone the office myself, he said “why? Is that so you can complain about me?” I phoned the company after he had left and told Dave, the representative about my experience. He thanked me for bringing it to his attention, and then added “that’s the third time someone has complained about him this month” - THIS WAS ON THE 13th OF THE MONTH!! This ‘service’ cost £714. The insurance company have had to employ another leak detection company, Polygon, to carry out the job properly. My advice - DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE TOTALLY AND UTTERLY INCOMPETENT. *** 20.12.21 Following my contact with the customer services representative and posting of the above review, I can confirm that ADI leak have offered a sincere apology and issued a full refund. Whilst in my case, the leak detection technician did carry out his task without any degree of professionalism, ADI customer support most definitely have; particular thanks to Monique. Frank turned up bang on time, thoroughly surveyed the whole system with minute attention to detail, confirmed there was a leak and set about finding it, with gas detection equipment, which he achieved in about 2 hours. After repairing the leak he completely refilled the whole system, made some system improvements along the way and thoroughly tested everything to ensure it was working efficiently and correctly. Frank was careful, competent, communicative and extremely diligent and we had no collateral damage whatsoever. Superb service with which we were highly delighted and in awe of Frank's technical ability, work ethic and experience. We booked an engineer who came out and after a couple of hours could only find a leaking valve where the magna clean was, repressurised the system but the boiler was still losing the same amount of pressure. The engineer concluded after another hour that because there was water coming out if the condensing pipe it was surely an issue with the boilers heat exchanger and that a new boiler was required. Unfortunately because if thus report the insurance company did not cover the trace and access. So I got another plumber / boiler engineer and after taking up the upstairs landing floorboards he managed to locate the leak in the wall, so we isolated ran new pipework because we couldn't get to the pipe and its been 4 weeks without any issues. They gave us an appointment by return and duly attended as arranged. ADi’s office procedures have been efficient and effective throughout. Mark and Robert who attended were both excellent. Not only were they very professional and effective in all that they did but they were also very tidy and considerate in the work they had to undertake in every room in our house. She explained the whole process and answered technicial questions, including how to deal with the insurance company, with ease and arranged for someone to visit within a couple of days. Mark P arrived as planned, having made contact on his way to give an ETA. He was also v friendly, reassuring and clearly experienced, explaining everything as he went along. He quickly sourced the problem and dealt with it efficiently. Mark made as little impact on the flooring as possible (I was expecting to have to make good a large hole in the floor), showed me the leak, explained what he was doing and why, and tidied up after himself. It was all done v quickly and further tests conducted to ensure there were no further problems or leaks. We were super impressed with the whole service, and would thoroughly recommend ADL to anyone with a water leak. They really are a trustworthy, reliable and efficient trade service. I'd asked another company to come and perform a leak assessment, and over 2.5 days on an hourly charge we still hadn't located the exact issue. ADI Pro Leak was fantastic as they offered a fixed price and a clear explanation of how this issue was going to be resolved which was significantly better value than their competitor. Within the first few hours, our leak detection specialist (Grant C), was easily able to identify the source of the leak and was clear in explaining the reasoning behind his assessment. I was very impressed with their service and help to identify the issue. This wasn't straightforward. It is an older property with a gravity-fed boiler and the leak was under the concrete floor. Finding the leak wasn't straightforward because there was a membrane above the pipes which diffused the gas, but Mark persisted and was able to find exactly where the leak was. He then dug the floor up and we could see it. However, Mark said he could hear a second leak (he must have great ears!) and so he kept digging - and he was right. Due to the nature of the house, we were already quite late in the day but Mark kept at it into the evening and fixed both leaks - all at the fixed price quoted. Goodness knows what time he finally got home (he still had a 2-hour drive at the end of the day). It must have been a frustrating job but Mark was friendly and professional throughout, with a ready smile and plenty of reassurance - and he really went above and beyond. Thank you, Mark! Paul was really friendly and proactive, using all his gadgets and even diving into the crawl space below the kitchen to find the source of the leak. He found the culprit was a shoddy joint on some non-standard sized pipe and luckily had the correct replacement part with him to fix it on the day. The call-out fee was a little eye watering but who knows how someone without all the gizmos would have managed? They've also provided us with a report for the repair and a load of pictures for the insurance company. The story is too long really but, for 3 hours work, it ended up costing me £131 Inc vat. No leak detected. Before engineer left, he asked me to talk to a bloke in the office who told me I had to pay "before the engineer could leave". He said this 3 times and I felt intimidated. He then told me I had given the last FOUR digits of my bank card wrong. I never give bank details out and certainly didn't this time...and even if I had..4 wrong, I doubt it. In the end I paid but did complain about the above. I mentioned the card and was told it was policy to take the card number. I said again, I had never given them it. They told me they recorded calls and would send my recorded call for me to listen to. I have called and rang for this but now they don't reply so still haven't heard it...BECAUSE IT DOESNT EXIST. I dont like how I was treated nor do I like their customer service and promises they can't keep...and I certainly don't like being ripped off. They told me the engineer was booked to stay all day, for the original price of £495 plus vat ( I did get £100 off afterward complaining) plus any repairs, but he told me he had another two jobs to go to so clearly, he wasn't booked with me all day. My stopcock was jammed so he couldn't do the last test which would have been no more than an hour. On asking the office, I was told it would be another call out fee for a day, for him to do the last test. After calling several companies who either couldn't do the job or could only do it in one to two weeks time,I came across ADI online. They said they could send someone the following morning. The engineer Vince arrived promptly and found and repaired the leak. He was polite, friendly and very thorough and efficient.
